Darkseid has been deposed on Apokolips and is held captive along with Desaad. Mister Miracle and Darkseid’s son, Orion, are sent to check on him. Darkseid, however, sees their visit as an opportunity to escape.
On Apokolips, civil unrest is breaking out, and Darkseid’s supporters once turn to manipulating earthlings to gain power. Their strategy is to turn normal humans into super-villains, and do battle with the Super Powers team that had defeated Darkseid.
